I always see posts on my dash like “I wish I had a guy/girl bestfriend”. “If only Ihad a guy/girl bestfriend” etc. Let me tell you something, having a bestfriend of the opposite gender isn’t always easy. I mean, you tell them everything about you, talk to them all the time, see them all the time, you’re always there for them and they’re always there for you. They listen to you when you’re mad or upset and they provide a shoulder to cry on. You know everything about one another.

One way or another, one of you are going to end up developing feelings for each other. Honestly, it’s kind of hard not to develop feelings when you two are so close. But as strong as those feelings are for him/her, they are your bestfriend. If you get into a relationship and breakup, you won’t have that strong of a bond anymore. You realize the only way you can stay close to that person is if you remain just friends. You will always love them, but unfortunately, the farthest that love will go is the friend kind of love, nothing more.
